The are 3 basics when it comes to painting.

Preparing, Color & Type

PREPARING

Regardless of the surface you would like us to paint, it is always a good idea to have us prepare the surfaces for painting.  Proper preparation will make painting go on more smoothly, look better, and last longer. For interior painting this may consist of fixing cracks and leaks.  For exterior painting this may consist of sanding away chipping paint.

COLOR

Take some time to do gather some of your ideas from magazines or home décor books to find colors that you like. If its the inside of your home that will be getting painted, walk through your house and pay special attention to the natural light in each room. Lighter colors tend to make a room look brighter and sometimes larger. Darker colors can be used to create a cozy atmosphere.

TYPE

If it's the outside of your home that needs painting, it is important to understand the benefit of selecting the right paint sheen. Typically, the flat/matte sheen is used on interior walls, and flat and satin finishes are used on exterior surfaces. However, paint trim work, high-humidity or high traffic areas, you will need a more washable sheen. To learn more about paint sheen, click on the link below.
